Our world is fast paced and saturated with visual information, so efficiently and accurately processing what you see is critical. Visual literacy teaches you to slow down, look deeply and see things you may have missed — critical for identifying hazards and preventing costly mistakes.

What Is Visual Literacy And
How Can It Improve
Workplace Safety?
COVE’s cutting-edge visual literacy curriculum is based on the Toledo Museum of Art’s effort to help people see the world. Since its inception, TMA has spearheaded the effort to increase visual comprehension and communication via the world’s great works of art. Now we’re putting theory into practice, working with major organizations to drive success at every level by implementing strategies for seeing better in the workplace.
Learning to process visual information effectively is more than just theoretical. Organizations looking to improve Environmental Health and Safety processes can adopt this Visual Literacy approach to enhance hazard recognition, incident investigation and pre-job safety analysis; decrease incident rates, while saving time; and train their team to engage safely with the workplace environment.
To get started with this leading edge and innovative approach, we recommend attending a Foundations of Visual Literacy workshop. We offer pre-scheduled open workshops or we can work with you directly to conduct a dedicated workshop geared towards your organizational needs.
Once you’ve built proficiency in the methodologies, we can partner with you to design a deployment plan focused on staff growth and development and improve the visibility of improvement metrics.
